Spaces Rode Olifant

2012
Office concept, The Hague
1.500 / 9.000 m2, 120 work and meet seats
In collaboration with Sevil Peach, London
Role: executive architect

The successful office concept Spaces was taken a step further when opening in the Hague. The sheer beauty of this listed building was exciting as well as challenging. We needed to find a way to merge the modern look and feel of Spaces with the traditional character of the building. We restored the building and improved the technical installations throughout. Public areas were opened up by re-arranging fire compartments and to provide character also to the interior,
we experimented with unusual materials, such as brass flooring, lacquered MDF and mitered OSB. The result is an eye-catching and much loved work- and meeting centre in the heart of the political capital.
