Spaces Vijzelstraat

2014
Office concept, Amsterdam
1,200 m2, 105 work and meet seats
In collaboration with Sevil Peach, London
Role: executive architect

The Spaces concept in a tough-on-the-outside building, located in the heart of Amsterdam. The concrete exterior was renovated and the interior needed to both soften and show the value of the raw outside. Soft touches, rough wood and an eclectic collection of furniture complement the concrete walls. In addition we experimented with new types of seating areas and, given its central location, we made sure there is a clear view as to who is going in and out. Even though the office is big and hosts a lot of different freelancers, it is built according to human scale and feel like working from home or in a café.
