Worldwide growth is driving a rapid expansion of locations for our client, the global leader in co- working, and the need to simultaneously bring hundreds of design projects to successful delivery. Client has tasked Design Studio bs;bp to oversee these projects. To this effect, Design Studio bs;bp is deploying a Global Quality Assurance Team of experienced designers and architects to assure design and execution meets the Quality Standards. The team is based in 3 regions: Asia Pacific, NAM-LATAM and Europe.

As Quality Assurer (QA) operating from Southern USA you would own the QA process of hundreds of projects in NAM and LATAM region, coaching external designers to execute good design pragmatically, assuring that external design studios focus on quality in designs, as much as they do on lead time and budget.

You coach external designers, builders and suppliers to deliver the design according to client KPI’s time, budget and quality are of equal importance. And lead meetings in your region with various stakeholders. Good Design is about finding the optimal balance. You uphold brand values from an early stage in the design process, thereby contributing to a brand experience in your region that is consistent with the rest of the world.

The QA must be able to demonstrate a strong track record in designing for the roll-out of offices, hospitality or high-end retail for (inter)national brands. You help to manage and maintain accurate data on QA tracking in coordination with the Design Project Manager that prevents designers’ failure to deliver. You report to the bs;bp studio CEO, who is based in Amsterdam.


Key responsibilities

  • Serve as first port of call for designers, builders and suppliers and create awareness for quality concerns.
  • Own the Quality Assurance program for Design, Build and Operations (Including Audit), reporting to the Chief Design Director (CDO).
  • Streamline all Brand Design Guidelines for an industrialized process.
  • Strengthen the Global QA team by delivering regular Design Guide updates and corrections based on up-to-date regional knowledge.
  • Proactively identify potential impacts to project quality, schedule, and budget.
  • Work with Design Project Manager to identify, document and communicate standard design processes that safeguard Good Design.
  • Raise the maturity level of building-related brand standards, technical services and implementation/training procedures

Monitor the overall scope of works of the concept architect and involved local architects for new locations in Northern Americas and Latin America.

Correct implementation of interior design standards as developed by the concept architect and defined in the Design Guide.

Work in close cooperation with external designers, builders and suppliers, as well client’s execution and implementation team, whom will be responsible for the correct execution of a new location with the local Professional Team.

Coach and guide on local compliance and regulation in the context of the Brand Design Guide.

Liaise with external designers to create a complete design for any new location under your different co-working brands.

Substantial involvement with Professional Training Program for all designers and other parties involved.

Proactively seek out ways to improve productivity and quality, and make recommendations to support project scaling at a rapid pace.

Work with Design Project Manager to ensure Studio processes are being optimized in support of quality assurance.

Contribute to the success of our client’s global roll-out.

Contribute to the success of the Design Studio bs;bp portfolio.


Basic Qualifications

  • Earn Trust of Others. Engage with many internal and external teams that contribute to our design projects, building relationships and helping identify existing components and tools that can be leveraged to deliver on our goals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture or Design.
  • Proficiency using CAD software on a Mac.
  • At least 8 years of experience with the development and rollout of offices, hospitality or high-end retail projects.
  • Ability to travel 15% of their time for regional site visits and globally to interact with Quality Assurance Team.
  • Proficient in English and preferably Spanish as a second language.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Past 5 years progressively responsible experience.
  • Master’s degree in Interior Architecture or Design, Operations, or a related field.
